IS 289 provides a nurturing and challenging environment where teachers encourage students to cultivate their best intellectual, artistic and emotional selves. Our curriculum fosters hard work, determination and resilience in the classroom balanced with teaching concepts that stimulate critical thinking, acting with principle and acquiring knowledge through inquiry. In addition, our flexible use of time and space stimulates collaborative work resulting in the invaluable reward of working and achieving as an academic team.​

Tours for Prospective IS 289 Families

IS 289 will host in-person tours for prospective families (For Children Entering 6th Grade in Fall 2027)

Please make sure to register to ONE tour per family only. All families wishing to tour 289 must sign up for a tour.

Daytime Tours:

(capped at 100, additional tours will be added if these fill up.)

• October 20th at 9am
• October 27th at 9am
• November 5th at 9am

Evening Open House (no building tour):

(No attendance limit)

• November 3rd at 6pm
