  • PTA Meeting In Person Wednesday Morning!

    Please join us this Wednesday, September 13th at 8:45 am for our first PTA meeting of the school year! We will be meeting on the 5th Floor of IS 289 (library or courtyard depending on the weather) and will be serving coffee and pastries. PTA meetings are a great way to meet and connect with other parents, learn about exciting updates and volunteer opportunities, and to meet and ask Zeynep questions. Our guest speaker will be the school's social worker, Josh Espinoza. Josh will be sharing some tips on how we can support our children as they begin a new school year.
     
    289 Cougars merchandise will also be on sale -- show school spirit and support all of our school programs, including music, with your purchase!
     
    We look forward to seeing you there! If you have not already done so, please RSVP.

Direct Appeal

We need your support, and here's why ...

​Department of Education funding leaves gaps in our school's budget. The PTA works to fill those gaps and enrich the education of each child at IS 289.

Each year the PTA commits to funding a variety of programs and materials. The Direct Appeal is our largest fundraising campaign to help achieve this goal. Over 60% of PTA revenue comes from the Direct Appeal ... 

The Direct Appeal benefits ALL children at IS 289. The money we raise is used to pay for music, art, technology and language programs, as well as professional development programs for teachers and staff, classroom supplies, library books, and so much more.

No amount is too small (or too big!). Please give any amount that is comfortable and meaningful for your family. We are striving for 100% participation and we accept donations by cash, check or credit card as a one-time or monthly payment.

Your donation is tax deductible and eligible for corporate matching.
